As part of his account he has written the history to 1914 of the Cambridge Apostles, the semi-secret society whose members have ranged from Tennyson to Anthony Blunt, and in which Moore played a crucial part. He has had unrivalled access to the papers of both Moore and of the Apostles, and has made very telling use of them.
