Description

about 3kg and dimensions of box aprox. 40x40x20cm

Condition:  Good and fair copies in the original gilt-blocked cloth. Spine bands and panel edges slightly dust-toned and rubbed as with age. The images are examples of the better looking half and then the general condition of the worse off half. All of them are in reading condition. None is falling apart-Such a pity about the condition of these treasures. Not all of us respect books unfortunately. The covers got the most damage; internally they are all good.

Buy as is. hopefully it can be somewhat restored by a professional.

Prices average for R60 a book which is fair – if not too cheap.

Charles Dickens’ works were frequently published by Chapman & Hall in the late 19th century, with notable 1892–1894 and 1893–1896 sets appearing around that time. These editions often featured revised, illustrated, or complete collections in 16 to 22 volumes, frequently bound in gilt-blocked cloth or leather.

These 1893 volumes are generally considered collectible antique books, but their specific value depends heavily on their condition, binding material, and whether they are part of a complete, matching set.
