Description
This is the story of those two boys, and of that deed. It is a story of idealism and terror, of conspiracy and suspense. It is a story you will never forget.
The Deed tells the story of the life and times of Eliyahu Hakim and Eliyahu Bet Zouri. The historical and personal background of their lives is presented.
During World War II, two young Jewish boys assassinated Lord Moyne, British Minister of State in the Middle East, hoping that this deed would accelerate the founding of an independent Jewish state in Palestine.
After both Eliyahou’s were caught there was alot of Egyptian sympathy for them despite the high anipathy for zionism. Afterall the Egyptians were suffereing under British occupation, just like the Jews. The book was written by a jounralist who convered the trial in Egypt where in both boys were eventually hanged.
Whether one sypathises or not with Stern gang matters; this a great and easy read of a historic event.
